Jessica E. Ervin

Founder & CEO

Jessica E. Ervin is the founder and CEO of the Waterbury Black Business Network, Inc. (WBBN), where she is dedicated to empowering Black entrepreneurs and fostering an inclusive business environment. A proud graduate of the University of New Haven, Jessica combines her solid educational foundation with extensive hands-on experience to drive impactful initiatives in her community.


With over four years of nonprofit leadership experience, Jessica is well-versed in the unique challenges faced by small business owners and is a passionate advocate for the resources and support necessary for their success. As a small business owner herself, she intimately understands the complexities of managing and growing a business.


In addition to her role at WBBN, Jessica serves as the Vice President of Marketing and Communications for Building Legacy and Community, where she enhances outreach and engagement strategies to promote community development and collaboration. Her expertise extends to e-commerce, grant writing, staff training and development, as well as leadership training and consulting. This diverse background equips her to provide valuable insights and tailored training programs for local businesses, helping them thrive in today’s competitive market.


Jessica actively engages in initiatives that uplift local enterprises and promote social equity. Her leadership and vision continue to inspire and unite the Waterbury community in its pursuit of economic empowerment and prosperity. Through her work with WBBN, Jessica remains committed to creating a supportive ecosystem for Black entrepreneurs to successfully navigate their business journeys.
