Alicia Pittman
Director
Alicia Pittman is a proud Waterbury native, born and raised in the North End of the city. An alumna of Waterbury Public Schools, she graduated from the University of Connecticut (Storrs Campus) with degrees in Human Development & Family Studies, focusing on Early Childhood Education, and Africana Studies.
As a founding member of Waterbury’s Black Giving Circle, Alicia is deeply committed to making a positive impact in the Black community. She is also a founding member of the North End Cooperative Market, where she strives to foster unity and collaboration within the community. Her dedication to giving back is further reflected in her active involvement with organizations that have supported her journey.
Alicia is a lifelong member of Zion Baptist Church and a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., where she serves as the Reclamation Chair for Connecticut and Rhode Island. Beyond her volunteer work, Alicia owns her own photography business, Photography By Alicia, and expresses her creativity through poetry.
With a profound love for Waterbury, Alicia recognizes that her experiences, both the strengths and challenges, have shaped her into the person she is today. As a general board member of the Waterbury Black Business Network, Alicia is eager to support events that empower Black entrepreneurs and contribute to the growth of the Black community as a whole. She extends heartfelt gratitude to her parents, family, friends, mentors, and co-workers for their unwavering love and support, stating, "My village is unmatched, and I appreciate them very much! With God, all things are possible!"
